I first worked with him at Framestore in London where we were completing complex visual effects shots for the Baz Luhrmann film, Australia. Daniel was our point person for camera and matchmove. His duties included hands on matchmove camera tracking as well as managing other tracking artists. His time management and communication skills were superb – on a tight timeline he always seemed to be ahead of schedule. A year later, at another facility, we were faced with a large volume of shot work for Harry Potter 7. So I went off to Australia for 2 months to work on Harry Potter: The Deathly Hallows Part 1 at Rising Sun Pictures. I had a great time there but now I’m back and looking for the next thing to do.

Speeder Project

So things are a bit out of date due to the whole unexpected redundancy thing. I’m going to be spending my new free time doing trying to rectify that by doing some more up to date stuff.

01	Maya nCloth simulation of paper blowing away in the wind. Rendered with Mental Ray. Composited in After Effects.
02	Packaging the wormhole effect up into an asset to be used in multiple shots as a one click setup.
03	Full CG shot. Blocked camera move.
04	Full CG shot. Noise added to block camera using my noise script written in MEL.
05	Full CG shot. Latest submission of the shot at the time that I made the Showreel.
06	Facial track. Tracked in Matchmover. Animated and rendered in Maya. Composited in Shake.

Shiny New Website

So I’ve gone over to WordPress as a quick and easy solution for a decent looking, easily managable website. I had to do a bit of a CSS/PHP crash course to figure out how to make my own theme but I think it was worth it.
